Distance learning in the time of Covid-19: Exploring students’ anxiety

Performing sudden and uncertain distance learning can be difficult complicated experiences for students as they may suffer from anxiety. The study of anxiety in Indonesia typically concentrated on the relation with speech production (Anandari, 2015), gender differences (Nurhaeni, 2019), four basic skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) (Male, 2018) its impact language (Budiman, Ngadiso, & Suparno, 2017). especially time crisis, like outbreak Covid-19 is rare. Thus, to examine faced by higher education crisis (Covid-19) explore cause those anxieties important. data this was collected using two instruments, a questionnaire an interview. To get data, researcher modified Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) Howitz Young (1991) which commonly applied determine level Since learning, researchers also decided adopt “On-line Learning (OLLA) Inventory” (Majid, Othman, Rahmat, 2007). Findings revealed that experienced levels beginning stage learning. A year after implementation had adapted well encountered reduced.
